    Link Equity

    Last updated:

Quick definition: Link equity (also called link juice) is the authority value passed from one page to another through a hyperlink, with more authoritative linking pages transferring more equity.

    What it means

Link equity is the modern term for what was originally called PageRank flow. Each link passes a portion of the linking page's authority to the linked page, divided across the total number of outbound links on that page.

Follow links pass equity, nofollow and UGC links generally do not, and internal links can be used to direct equity toward priority pages on your own site.

Why it matters for real estate SEO

Real estate agents commonly waste link equity by burying their highest-converting pages 4-5 clicks deep. A flatter architecture and strong internal linking to money pages typically produces faster ranking gains than chasing more backlinks.
