Schema Markup
Last updated:
Quick definition: Schema markup is structured code added to a webpage that helps Google understand its content.
What it means
Schema markup uses the Schema.org vocabulary in JSON-LD format. It tells search engines exactly what a page is about: a property listing, a real estate agent, a review, an FAQ, etc.
For real estate, the most valuable schema types are RealEstateListing, RealEstateAgent, LocalBusiness, FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList.
Why it matters for real estate SEO
Properly implemented schema unlocks rich results (star ratings, FAQ accordions, listing carousels) that can make your result stand out and earn more clicks.
